Information we collect

On this website

If you send a message, book a demo, or register a company, we collect what you type into the form:

Name, email address, and phone number
Company name and business address
Test kit type and serial number, when you provide them
About how many assemblies you test in a year, and any note you add

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The forms include a hidden field that is left empty; it is only used to reject automated submissions.

In the MachBackflow App

When you create an account and record tests, the app stores:

Your name and account details
Company, tester, and test-kit information you enter
Property and assembly records, including serial number, type, size, location, and owner details you enter
Test readings, pass, fail, and repair results, and the PDF reports the app generates
Purchase history for credits bought in the app. On the Apple App Store, purchase history is not linked to your identity

Pressure values can be captured from a connected Mid-West Instrument 855 test kit or entered by hand from another kit.

How we use information

We use this information to:

Provide the app, save test records, and generate reports
Fill in property and assembly details you have already stored
Answer a contact, demo, or registration request
Sell and apply credits and in-app purchases
Keep the service secure and fix problems

We do not sell personal information.

When test results are shared

Completed test results can be sent to an authorized third-party system, such as a tester-management platform or a water authority, when that system asks for them with a valid API key. A full result is released only after the request includes the ZIP code that matches the assembly’s serial number, so a company receives results for its own service area. We do not give third parties a copy of every test in the system.

We also use service providers who host the app, store records, and deliver email. They handle information only so we can run the service.

How we protect information

We use industry-standard encryption to ensure that your data is safe and secure at all times. Our servers are located in secure data centers that are monitored 24/7 to prevent unauthorized access. Test records are stored in encrypted cloud infrastructure, with redundancy and backups so a lost phone does not erase the record.

Data is encrypted in transit. Google Play’s Data safety section for the app states that data is not sold to third parties and that you can ask for it to be deleted.

How long we keep it

We keep account and test records for as long as the account is active and as long as needed to provide reports, meet a water authority’s record request, and resolve a billing or support question. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Your choices

You can review and update tester and assembly details in the app. You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information tied to it through the contact form. We may keep a record where the law or a compliance request requires it, or where we need it to complete a transaction you asked for.

Children

The MachBackflow App and this website are for businesses and certified testers. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
